Xenics Launches Ceres T 1280 IR Camera

High-resolution Sensor Aimed at Measurement Applications

Xenics has launched the Ceres T 1280 long-wave infra-red (LWIR) camera, and says its release “opens a new era for thermography“.

The Ceres T 1280 is a 1280,1024 pixels LWIR camera, offering which offers very high accuracy and stability. It is intended for use in applications including process monitoring, industrial machine vision, and in medical and scientific use cases where high resolution needs to be combined with high thermal sensitivity. The resolution puts the camera into the SXGA category, while most other cameras on the market, Xenics says, are VGA systems, signifying a resolution of 640×480. The camera is compliant with a range of interfaces and software standards, and can be used with monitors ranging from 12-48 inches.

With Ceres T 1280, Xenics offers a highly stable and accurate thermographic camera that gives unbeatable capabilities for temperature distribution resolution,” Frédéric Aubrun, Xenics’ Chief Commercial Officer, observed. “Customers will not only measure temperature, but they will also be able to precisely determine the spatial location of the measurement. Moreover, they will be able to use a much larger field of view which enables inspection of larger areas and potentially increase the system throughout.
