Xenics Introduces Wildcat+ 1280

High Resolution SXGA Format and Wildcat High Performance

Xenics announced the appearance of the Wildcat+ 1280 short-wave infra-red (SWIR) camera on 14 October, opening a new high-resolution era for the company.

Dedicated to industrial applications demanding very high resolution and performance, the new camera builds upon the success of the best-selling Wildcat 640, exploiting the easy-to-use nature of the platform with the high resolution of the SXGA (1280×1024) format. In addition, thanks to a 5µm pitch sensor, Wildcat+ 1280 is a compact solution, both at the camera and optics levels. “Customers always want more features, as the industry is heading towards high resolution. Our engineering team thus worked hard to propose SXGA resolution but still keeping the simplicity of the Wildcat that makes it very straightforward to integrate,” explained Marc Larive, Strategic Marketing Manager.

Wildcat+ 1280 is proposed with CameraLink or USB3 Vision interfaces, and benefits from Wildcat characteristics such as 2 triggers-in and 2 triggers-out, and a highly accurate temperature-stabilised FPA that provides very stable performance in demanding environments. It operates from visible to SWIR wavelengths (0.4-1.7µm), allowing users to receive both visible and SWIR information in a single camera. With a 120Hz maximum frame rate and power consumption less than 7W, Wildcat+ 1280 is the perfect solution for high-resolution SWIR applications.

The Wildcat+ 1280 combines proven capabilities from the best-selling Wildcat 640 with the high resolution of the SXGA format. (Xenics)
