Strategic Agreement Signed at World ATM Congress 2018
Hensoldt and Raytheon announced at the World ATM Congress in Madrid on 6 March that they will cooperate in development and marketing of new air traffic control radars. Specifically they will be addressing opportunities in airport approach control, air traffic control and air space surveillance and aircraft identification using Mode S and Mode 5.
The two companies intend to provide commercial airports a fully integrated air surveillance radar to enhance air traffic safety and efficiency. Their cooperation will create the optimum solution for their customers by combining Hensoldt’s primary radar airport surveillance radar and its monopulse secondary surveillance radar with Raytheon’s Mode S monopulse secondary surveillance radar. This new offering converges the companies’ ATC and sensor portfolios to grow their market presence worldwide and deliver new capabilities to benefit their customers.
