Interoperability Enhances Effectiveness and Survivability
VT Miltope’s Vehicle Integrated Communications System 2 – United States (VICS2-US) has achieved compliance certification with the US Army Vehicular Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability (VICTORY) standard, the company announced on 8 October.
The VICTORY standard enables C4ISR components installed in military vehicles to interoperate across a common message format, enhancing mission effectiveness and soldier survivability. VICS2-US is VT Miltope’s second-generation network-based vehicle intercom, capable of managing simultaneous voice and data communications within and across military wheeled and tracked vehicles, and is part of a long-term growth strategy that includes VT Miltope leveraging the capabilities and products of its parent company, ST Engineering, for the US market. VT Miltope has assumed all design, production, and sustainment responsibilities for VICS2-US.
“The VICS2-US has been certified as a fully integrated and compliant product that can operate on the VICTORY network,” said VT Miltope CEO, John Haley, “[which] reaffirms VT MIltope’s commitment to partner on US military programmes to bring technology force multipliers forward for the current and future fight. At VT Miltope, we understand that what we do ‘here’ matters to the soldiers ‘out there,’ and our commitment to their success and safety is foremost in every aspect of our business.”
