Three Aircraft to Return to Service This Year
Vector Aerospace is returning three Pakistani Navy SEA KING helicopters to service after the navy bought a total of seven from the UK Ministry of Defence last year.
Vector, which has previously been responsible for in-depth maintenance of the Royal Navy’s SEA KING fleet, is performing the work at its Fleetlands facility in Gosport. Handover of the seven aircraft purchased by Pakistan was made on 24 May and work has now commenced on the refurnishment of the first three, which are due to be returned to Pakistan by year end.
“Vector has a long history of supporting the SEA KING fleet, and we are delighted that this significant programme to refurbish these aircraft for return to service has now started,” Owen McClave, Vector Aerospace UK’s Managing Director, commented after the handover ceremony.
