auvsiXPO 2018: TASE250 LWIR

Designed to meet the smaller SWaP requirements of militaries

At XPONENTIAL on booth# 3815, UTC Aerospace Systems anmounces the new TASE250 LWIR (longwave infrared) for military and civilian UAS customers. Designed to meet the smaller SWaP (size, weight and power) requirements of the US Department of Defense (DoD) and foreign militaries, as well as high-end civilian UAS customers, this lightweight, high-performance gimbal makes it an excellent solution in the DoD Group 1 (up to 20lbs) and Group 2 (21-55lbs) unmanned segments.

The TASE250 LWIR payload provides an EO (electro-optical) colour/daylight imaging solution giving operators improved situational awareness, an all-digital imaging chain for maximised processing capability and an optimised lens design for enhanced object recognition.

This 5.5in system utilises existing TASE family architecture to achieve full motion video collection. The TASE250 imaging payload satisfies the increasing demand for exceptional full motion video performance though all periods of visibility. TASE250 LWIR includes operator friendly software interfaces, onboard GPS/INS with integrated geo pointing and optional laser pointer.

High performance & low SWaP at less than 4.3lbs (<1.95kg) at 640×480 EO/ LWIR this payload features a Laser Pointer, Integrated IMU for accurate geo-pointing, is designed to meet MIL-810G shock, vibration and environmental standards, has an integrated video processing system with target tracking, scene steering, electronic image stabilisation, KLV metadata and H.264 video. The ViewPoint payload software features complete control of TASE payloads – integrated moving map, real-time mosaicing, Path-Track and video recording.
