USAF Orders DroneSentry C-UAS for Grand Forks AFB

DroneShield’s First USAF Deployment

The USAF has ordered ‘multiple units’ of DroneShield’s DroneSentry C-UAS system for detect and defeat role at Grand Forks AFB, ND. The service also has an option to order additional units following initial deployment.

The systems to be deployed feature DroneShield’s passive RfOne RF direction-finding sensors combined with DroneCannon fixed site electronic countermeasures systems. DroneSentry uses the DroneShieldComplete user interface, an intuitive, feature-rich alerting, tracking and reporting software package. Regular firmware updates will include the company’s upcoming articial intelligence-based firmware rollout planned for late 2020.

DroneShield was selected because our technology leverages artificial intelligence software and tracking/defeat automation that solves the [customer’s requirements] with little to no impact on manning,” commented CEO Oleg Vornik. “This is DroneShield’s first USAF deployment […] The USAF has a substantial requirement for the protection of its bases, in the US and forward deployments […] In addition to our other recent work for the US military and government sector, a key market for us, the need for [our] counter-UAS solutions is expected to grow rapidly as global tensions continue to increase and the drone threat proliferates.”
