AeroVironment Uniquely Addresses All Phases of FTUAS
The US Army has selected AeroVironment’s JUMP 20 UAS to enter Increment 2 of the Future Tactical UAS (FTUAS) programme. AeroVironment is the only company to have won awards in all three programme increments (0, 1 and 2).
JUMP 20 will compete with aircraft from several other vendors, as the Army moves towards the selection of a replacement for the RQ-7B Shadow UAS to be fielded to Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs) throughout the service. It has demonstrated superior performance in the two preceding phases with BCTs in the US and Europe.
“The AeroVironment JUMP 20 is the most mature and capable solution in its class […] We will continue to work closely with the US Army to ensure we meet their performance needs, both today for an all-environment aircraft system and in the future as requirements evolve to meet changing battlefield demands,” observed Gorik Hossepian, AeroVironment’s VP and Product Line Manager for Medium UAS.
