US Army Selects DiSTI for AMPV Troubleshooting Trainers

Immersive Virtual Training Solutions to Improve Readiness

DiSTI Corporation has received a $3.56 million (€2.98 million) to provide the US Army with Diagnostic Troubleshooting Trainers (DTT) for the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV), together with classroom hardware, as part of the Family of Maintenance Trainers (FMT) initiative.

The AMPV is essential to the future of the US Army and provides strategic protection and mobility,“ explained DiSTI CEO, John Hayward. “It is imperative that the training for this complex vehicle be effective.”

The total solution will extend the existing AMPV DTT prototype lessons to include 80 maintenance and troubleshooting lessons and procedures. DiSTI’s solutions provide the army with immersive, cost-effective training that improves readiness and efficacy. Studies have shown that virtual training increases student throughput. DiSTI’s solution will allow students to train in an advanced 3D learning environment to garner the skills necessary for AMPV maintenance.

The AMPV provides significant capabilities in force protection, survivability, mobility and power generation to incorporate the army’s inbound network and other future technologies. The FMT initiative was developed by the US Army to establish a common core software baseline to replace its current stove-piped software architecture with a solution adaptable to address new and emerging technologies for future training needs.
