DiSTI Will Leverage Tools from Family of Maintenance Trainers

The US Army has placed a delivery order with DiSTI Corporation for virtual maintenance trainers for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), the company announced on 17 December.

DiSTI will provide diagnostic trainers for both systems, plus the necessary classroom hardware, installation, test, cybersecurity certification, and logistics support. Contract scope includes an update to existing software and hardware for multiple classrooms and laboratories at Fort Lee, VA, that support maintenance training for HIMARS, MLRS, as well as additional training support for the AVENGER/LPWS programme. Users will receive immersive, cost-effective training that improves student throughput, engagement, and learning outcomes.

The upgrade will leverage the latest DiSTI training system architecture, common core software elements and development tools from the US Army’s Family of Maintenance Trainers (FMT). This approach will reduce development time and cost, while providing hardware and software commonality across other Fort Lee Ordnance School training systems. The HIMARS/MLRS trainers will also integrate training features from the on-going CRAM II Operator/Maintainer Trainer (OMT) upgrade programme.
