General Dynamics $4.6 Billion Through 2028
The US Army has awarded a $4.6 billion (€3.8 billion) fixed-price-incentive contract to manufacture M1A2 SEPv3 ABRAMS main battle tanks, the company announced on 23 December. The first delivery order carries an estimated value of $406 million and anticipated completion date of the whole contract is June 2028.
The configuration features technological advances in communications, fire control and lethality, reliability, sustainment and fuel efficiency, plus upgraded armour. Additionally, the SEPv3 ABRAMS is designed to seamlessly accept future upgrades. The ABRAMS has set global standards for heavy battlefield armour for over 40 years: General Dynamics Land Systems continues to collaborate with the US Army to ensure the service continues to have the strongest, most technologically advanced tank fleet in the world.
