US Approves Sale of XM395 APMI Mortar Ammunition to Singapore

Estimated Contract Value $66 Million

On 13 March, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered to Congress notification of State Department approval for a Foreign Military Sale of advanced mortar ammunition to Singapore.

The Singapore government has requested 2,000 XM395 Accelerated Precision Mortar Initiative (APMI) rounds, with associated equipment and services at an estimated cost of $66 million. The proposed prime contractor will be.

Developed by Orbital ATK Armament Systems, the XM395 is based on the company’s guidance solutions for 155mm artillery. It brings to 120mm calibre mortars a capability that transforms the weapons effect from being purely responsive to the level of precision engagement in indirect fire.
