CGI, LEO Learning, to Provide E-Learning Applications and Support
The UK’s defence ministry has signed a two-year contract with CGI which, together with LEO Learning, will provide e-learning applications support and development.
The work is part of the Defence Learning and Management Capability programme. According to an MoD policy document on defence training and education, DLMC is “a collated set of digital services to manage defence learning.” Development of DLMC began in 2020 and it is intended to commission and update learning requirements; administer learning provision; deliver and undertake learning activity; analyse learning data; manage learning throughput; assure learning activity; and allow users to track learners’ records.
CGI and Leo Learning will “design, develop and deliver a sustainable and secure pan-defence learning environment,” including provision of “e-learning applications [that] will build on industry best practice learning technologies … hosted on the MoD Cloud Internet Connected Environment on an AWS [Amazon Web Services] platform,” according to a company statement.
“CGI will, alongside LEO Learning, ensure our Armed Forces Personnel benefit from access to best practice learning technologies supporting the MOD’s continued digitisation,” said Neil Timms, CGI’s SVP for UK and Australia Space, Defence and Intelligence Operations. Sean Nugent, LEO Account Director, added: “The combined strength of LEO and CGI will enable the MoD to provide an exceptional technology-based learning experience to all armed services personnel.”
