Bohemia to Deliver as Managed Service for Five Years

The UK MoD has selected VBS4 and the VBS Blue image generator from Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) as the Defence Visual Simulation 2 (DVS2) solution, the company announced on 20 April.

As prime contractor and design authority, BISim successfully delivered DVS1, using VBS3 as the basis, from 2016-2022. The new five-year enterprise licence contract sees BISim delivering DVS2 as a managed service: MoD will benefit from capability enhancements via a regular cycle of software updates.

DVS2 is MoD’s common virtual simulation tool, providing interoperable, accessible and deployable virtual simulation capability across the UK defence enterprise. DVS2 will enable simulated activity across all levels of training, as well as operations planning and rehearsal, decision support, and R&D.
