UAV Vision detail latest in gyro-stabilised gimbals

In Melbourne, MONS took the opportunity to meet with Maurice Gonella, Operations Manager at UAV Vision, to discuss their latest technological advances in gyro-stabilised gimbals: “We invest significantly in research and development in the hardware and software of our gimbals in order to continuously strive to deliver the best size-to-weight ratio for our customers.

The latest technological development at UAV Vision is the CM123, a three-axis multi sensor gyro-stabilised gimbal that can pan, tilt and roll. It provides customers with a thirty times electro-optic (EO) optical zoom and three times infrared (IR) optical zoom that can detect and identify vehicles up to 25km. Laser sensors are also available upon customers’ request. Light (1kg) and small (120mm in depth and 200mm in height), the CM123 is ideal for integration into multi-rotor, rotary-wing and fixed-wing UAVs. All video is encoded onboard.

We are currently targeting the commercial market, looking to focus on the export of ITAR- free (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) gimbals as well as on the smaller-end of the market,” Mr Gonella indicated. “We are also looking to ‘marinise’ our gimbals to be able to expand to the maritime market.
