TROPHY has become the most successful APS integrated on Western MBTs
EuroTrophy GmbH, a joint venture among GDELS, KMW, and RAFAEL, was awarded a contract from KNDS (the result from the association between Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter), to equip the new Leopard ‘2 A8’ MBT configuration for Germany and Norway programmes.
The TROPHY active protection system (APS) protects against rocket and missile
threats while pinpointing the origin of hostile fire for immediate response. With the KNDS contract, Trophy has become the most successful active protection system integrated on Western Main Battle Tanks, including Leopard 2, Abrams M1 and Merkava IV, as well as lighter platforms such as the Namer APC and other wheeled and tracked IFVs.
The UK minister of Defence (MoD) has recently awarded RAFAEL with some €32,7million (£20 million) contract for the TROPHY for the Challenger 3 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs).
EuroTrophy is the European hub of the Trophy APS. Based in Germany, the company is the only provider of a European made, combat proven, NATO fielded Active Protection System and has a special focus on the European defence community.
