Competition Addresses Space Situational Awareness
The NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency and NATO Space Centre have announced the shortlist of companies qualifying for the NATO Space Pitch Day. “The number and quality of the submissions reflects the increasing role commercial industry can play in the Alliance’s space capabilities,” observed NCI Chief of Staff, Maj Gen Göksel Sevindik.
Companies were asked to submit proposals focused on applications the Space Centre can use for improving situational awareness. A team of panellists from NATO Space Centre, NATO HQ Situation Centre and NCI assessed all 45 entries for innovation, impact, and feasibility. The qualifiers will pitch their solutions on 17 June during the Agency’s virtual industry conference, NITEC Connect.
The top qualifiers are:
• Analytical Graphics Inc., and Ansys
• ExoAnalytic Solutions Inc.
• GlobVision Inc.
• Maxar Intelligence Inc.
• Safran Data Systems
• VizworX Inc.
“It is outstanding to have so many proposals from space industry companies to support the ongoing development of our Alliance’s space situational awareness,” commented Maj Gen Karsten Stoye, Chief of Staff for Allied Air Command.
