Smallest TSM MANET-capable Radio
Thales has received the first delivery order from the US Army for its AN/PRC-170 JAVELIN radio, under the Army Single Channel TSM Radio programme.
In support of capability set fielding into the Integrated Tactical Network (ITN), the JAVELIN is ideally suited to expand reliable and affordable voice, data connectivity, and streaming video to the tactical edge. Under the award, Thales is delivering the smallest form factor TSM, Mobile Ad-Hoc Networking (MANET)-capable radio, giving operators increased flexibility in multi-domain operations and ensuring a modern, highly resilient tactical network.
In force-on-force evaluations for Army tactical manoeuvre operations, the AN/PRC-170 has proven its high reliability, ease of use, and exceptional battery life, to become the communications centrepiece for the individual soldier. Testing included such events as the Advanced Expeditionary Warfighting Experiment (AEWE), Fort Bragg user evaluations, and key test events at Fort Huachuca Electronic Proving Ground.
