AS532 and EC635 Helicopter Simulators to be Enhanced Thales has been contracted by armasuisse to standardise the Full Flight Mission Simulator for Switzerland’s AS532 SUPER PUMA helicopters and to upgrade the simulator for the EC635.

Standardisation of the SUPER PUMA simulator, in Swiss service since 2012, with an upgrade to software taking effect in 2015, will include upgrading the primary flight avionics, communications, FLIR and moving map systems and the helmet-mounted display. Networking the two simulators will enable multi-aircraft training scenarios to be carried out. The instructor station will also be considerably improved.

Both simulators are already certified to Level D. Delivery for the upgraded facilities is due for completion by September 2017.
