Ideal for UAS/RPAs and Helicopters and Transport Platforms

At Thales‘ bi-annual Pre-Paris Air Show Press Tour, the company detailed the TSC 4000 miniature and lightweight IFF transponder, which is said to be ideal for UAS/RPAs and helicopters and transport platforms.

At 2,1 kg with an output power of >350W and optimised SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) the TSC 4000 is Stanag 4193, ICAO Annex 10 ( Amdt 85), DoD AIMS 97-1000, DoD AIMS 03-1000B compliant.

Thales explained that this transponder gives a UAV situational awareness, going to tell MONS that the TSC 4000 is to receive US NSA crypto certification by 2019 and is intended to replace the TSC 1431 this year, currently used by the UK Armed Forces’ WATCHKEEPER UAV. No contract has been signed. Furthermore, this innovative device is intended to replace the TSC 2050, currently in use on the Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) HERON UAV.
