Thales and Airbus Ink Joint Cyber Detection Agreement

CYBELS SENSOR and ORION MALWARE to Provide Qualified Solution

Thales and Airbus CyberSecurity have signed a joint agreement to combine their forces and products to provide operators with robust, competent and qualified solutions, offering advanced detection capabilities and enabling in-depth investigation, the companies announced on 9 October.

The joint solution will combine the Airbus ORION MALWARE file analysis system with Thales’ CYBELS SENSOR intrusion detection system. The latter obtained its security visa from French national cybersecurity agency ANSSI in April this year. The partnership of the two companies for the French market aims to help operators of vital importance reinforce cyber protection measures, as required by ANSSI with the Military Programming Law.

The CYBELS SENSOR detection system from Thales enables operators to detect cyber attacks by confidently monitoring their networks. Through real-time analyses of large data volumes to detect potential threats, the sensor alerts cybersecurity teams as early as possible, in order to maximise protection of monitored networks. Customers already equipped with this solution, include the French national postal service LaPoste and the European Space Agency (ESA) for its GALILEO satellite-based positioning system.

In conjunction with the ORION MALWARE solution, suspicious files captured on a network by CYBELS SENSOR are analysed in depth in less than a minute. After the analysis, ORION MALWARE returns a report detailing risks and indicators of compromise. A summary accessible to non-experts is also provided. to prepare an efficient incident response.

Already in operation to protect institutional and corporate customers, ORION MALWARE works like a detonation chamber for malware. It combines the best static and dynamic detection engines to detect the stealthiest malware threats. ORION also integrates artificial intelligence (AI) to improve classification of detected malware.
