Seven Robots and Associated Transport/C2 Vehicles
Thailand has equipped one of its active counter-terrorist units with seven aunav.NEXT explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) robots and seven aunav.VAN associated C2 vehicles, Spanish developer aunav (an everis ASD company) announced on 2 December.
Developed and manufactured entirely in Spain, the aunav.NEXT is a unique EOD device, being the only robot currently available with two synchronised arms. The aunav.VAN transport and rapid intervention unit was developed specifically to cater for the requirements of CBRN and explosive disposal teams.
The Thai order reinforces the company’s presence in Asia, where aunav units are already in service with security forces in China, India and Vietnam. Over 200 aunavo robots have been sold to date, in 16 countries. The aunav.NEXT was developed in close collaboration with bomb disposal units with a particular emphasis on capabilities required for the deactivation of improvised explosive devices (IED) and the activities of EOD and CBRN teams.
