Rotterdam Hub to Incorporate R&D and Training Centres
Tokyo-based Terra Drone is completing its investment in Skytools, a leading provider of advanced drone solutions for industrial and government operators, the company announced on 6 August. The companies intend to establish a powerful drone hub in Rotterdam, incorporating advanced R&D and training centres.
Skytools, which helps clients develop drone-based solutions across a range of industries and for government agencies, is already working on a range of initiatives including fully automated drones (‘drone-in-a-box’) and 5G-enabled drones. It will now collaborate with Terra Drone Europe and Terra Drone Inspectioneering in the Netherlands and will bring in military-grade fixed wings from C-Astral, a Terra Drone company in Slovenia.
“Working close together with the Terra Drone group next to the Port of Rotterdam will give our clients a strong partner for aerial services at their facilities. For Skytools this collaboration means that we can look further than the Dutch borders and expand a high level of service on a European and global scale,” commented Marko Van Es, Skytools’ CEO.
“Skytools has been dedicating themselves to provide the best drone-based solutions to […] clients and has contributed to the growth of the market. Collaboration with Skytools will surely boost Terra Drone’s force to create a better future by utilising and developing the capability of drones on a global scale,” added Terra Drone Corporation’s Head of Europe, Yuki Uneo.
