Companies Agree to Collaborate on European Programmes
Northrop Grumman and Terma have signed an MoU that commits the companies to collaborate on pursuing EW training and simulation opportunities in northern Europe.
The agreement will see the companies pool their respective resources to “creat[e] modern, effective air operations training, combining Northrop Grumman’s leadership in digital environments with Terma’s long-standing support of regional partners,” according to a Northrop media release.
Terma, based in Denmark, delivers products including C2, surveillance, and aircraft self-protection systems to clients based in Europe and elsewhere. Northrop’s simulation and training business provides what it describes as “a modern, reactive battespace environment” to military clients.
“Terma has a longstanding relationship with European Air Forces in terms of designing, manufacturing, integrating, and supporting EW equipment,” the company’s SVP of support and services, Thorbjørn Machholm, said. “We look forward to working closely with Northrop Grumman on European EW simulation and training opportunities.”
“Training NATO pilots to operate in contested electromagnetic spectrum environments will be critical to mission success,” added James Conroy, Northrop’s VP of navigation, targeting and survivability. “Through our collaboration with Terma to provide our advanced capabilities, we can elevate aviation training for pilots in Europe.”
