SitaWare Aspire Adds In-App Training to E-Learning Solutions
Danish software company Systematic has launched SitaWare Aspire, a new app-based training tool that, it says, will bring an extra dimension to militaries that use their SitaWare C4I product.
The Aspire system integrates e-learning assets like text and video packages into the SitaWare application. Trainees use the software while carrying out exercises and receiving instruction. A digital instructor, presented to the trainee in an on-screen information box, assists students while they learn how to use the operational system. “They have the application right in front of them – they don’t have to wait until they’ve conducted the training before they can use it,” said Gauri Varma Heise, Service Product Management Director at Systematic’s defence division.
Alongside the training delivery, SitaWare Aspire also validates trainees’ performance as they progress through the training packages. The basic package walks students through the fundamentals of the software, but bespoke courses can be developed to suit the requirements of different users.
Another benefit the system offers is standardisation of the training experience. With each course validated and certified by subject-matter experts, and the instruction delivered by the system, every student’s experience will be consistent – which would not be the case for training delivered in-person by a human instructor. Similarly, the ongoing assessment by the software means variability in validating progress is reduced. “Whether the student passes or not, the results are much easier to measure than classic classroom training,” Varma Heise explained.
