Seven-Year $9.2 Million Framework Contract
Avon Protection’s strategic partner, Promoteq, has won a seven-year, SEK100 million (US$9.2 million) framework contract from the Swedish defence procurement agency, FMV, for the British-based manufacturer’FM54 respirators, CS-PAPRs and ST54 SCBA units, plus spares and accessories.
Deliveries will run through the end of this year, and the equipment will provide the specialist units within the Swedish armed forces with adaptable protection for the most demanding operational environments. The FM54 offers maximum protection against CBRN threats while maintaining user flexibility, enabling the wearer to switch between negative and positive pressure modes without removing the mask. The CS-PAPR’s patented combination hose module allows similar seamless switching between operational modes and offers the wearer reduced size and weight compared with traditional systems. The ST54 SCBA is the base of a multi-mission respiratory protection system which provides operational flexibility in the field, coupled with exceptional comfort and durability.
“FMV is an important strategic customer for Avon Protection, and we are delighted they have, once again, chosen to demonstrate their ongoing trust in our life-saving products,” said Steve Elwell, President, Avon Protection. “The ability to change levels of protection depending on the threat environment allows the user to increase the duration of use and complete their mission safely”.
