Weapon to Equip Eight Mortar Vessels for Amphibious Forces

Strengthening its amphibious forces, Sweden is adding eight new mortar vessels, equipped with Patria’s turreted NEMO 120mm mortar system. Patria is to deliver the NEMOs to prime contractor Swede Ship Marine AB, marking the first delivery of the Finnish weapon to the Swedish armed forces. A training is also covered by the contract.

Patria NEMO Navy is a light, compact system, ideal for applications in fast-moving fleets. The turret can be integrated into a variety of platforms, including the Patria 6×6 armoured vehicle, which the Swedish armed forces has already ordered from Patria. This combination will be on display when the Swedish army celebrates its 500-year anniversary at Gärdet, Stockholm, on 27 May.
