Government Requests 178 Vehicles at $668 Million
The Peruvian government has requested 178 STRYKER AFV from the US under a Foreign Military Sale contract. The sale has an estimated value of U$668 million and the prime contractor will be General Dynamics Land Systems.
The 8×8 armoured vehicles are to be delivered in their basic APC configuration. They will enable the Peruvian Army to replace the remaining M-3 halftracks in its inventory (many of which date back to World War Two) and a number of Fiat 6614 and 6616 vehicles.
