Ground-based Launchers to Deploy with Infantry Units
Following a procurement agreement signed earlier this year, the Royal Thai Army has now received an initial supply of Rafael SPIKE MR [medium range] missiles and launchers, the company announced on 28 December.
The service selected the SPIKE MR after rigorous evaluation and procured its first lot of missiles and launchers for the 6th Infantry Division. The variant is a fire-and-forget missile with a range of 2,500m: missiles from the SPIKE family, offering ranges up to 32km, have been integrated on 45 platforms to date.
“SPIKE has been in use in Asia for more than 20 years, and the selection of the SPIKE Missile by the [Royal Thai Army] strengthens the SPIKE missile user base in Asia,” commented Roman Palarya, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Rafael’s Precision Tactical Weapon Systems directorate.
