SpearUAV Unveils NINOX Encapsulated Drone System

Immediate Launch, Instant Intelligence

SpearUAV, an innovative privately-held Israeli company founded in 2017, has launched the NINOX encapsulated drone system, providing on-demand, on-the-move instant drone intelligence for ground, air and naval forces.

Compared to traditional drones with similar capabilities, NINOX offers users operational flexibility and affordability. Launched manually or from a 40mm grenade launcher by individual soldiers, from a stationary or mobile land platform, or from an aerial or maritime system, ruggedised and built to withstand extreme environmental conditions and vibration, NINOX is available in a range of sizes, easily customized to meet operator requirements.

The NINOX drone is launched at high speed from a weapon; it then immediately unfolds and stabilises in the air, requiring no operator intervention. There are currently three variants.

NINOX 40: Specifically designed for individual operation, this tactical micro-drone system weighs under 250g – light enough to be incorporated into the soldier’s vest and carried on the person during combat. The NINOX 40 has endurance of up to 40min, extensive ISTAR capabilities with a day/night camera for enhanced situational awareness, automatic tracking, and can be launched on the move and from cover.

NINOX 66: A tactical multi-drone system designed for launch from stationary and mobile platforms, such as armoured vehicles, even on the move. Simple to operate, the NINOX 66 enables the operator to direct the payload without requiring drone piloting skills. It features swarm, mesh and computer vision capabilities, automatic target tracking and homing algorithms. With endurance of up to 50min and a payload capacity up to 700g in wind speeds of up to 20kts, this ruggedised system can operate in most conditions.
NINOX 103: Featuring a ruggedized composite airframe, the NINOX 103 is a state-of-the-art encapsulated drone designed for strategic and tactical use. Instantly launched with payloads of up to 1.5kg from large air, sea and land platforms, intuitive and easy to use, it has up to 60min endurance in wind speeds of up to 20kts features advanced capabilities, including swarm, mesh, computer vision, target tracking and homing algorithms.

The NINOX systems were developed as a direct response to the need of military forces for immediate intelligence capabilities,” explained Gadi Kuperman, Spear’s CEO. “Our solutions are designed to provide the end user with the most effective way to achieve immediate tactical superiority on today’s chaotic battlefield. This is a groundbreaking technology that will revolutionise the battlefield, enabling forces to use drones as standard kit [and they] are already in advanced stages of review by the Israel Ministry of Defense.”
