SOFIC22: Galvion Demos Power Hub

Nerv Centr Gives Troops Ability to Monitor Real-Time Power Consumption of Soldier-Worn Systems

Massachusetts-headquartered protective equipment and power/data-management solutions provider Galvion will be demonstrating its Nerv Centr power hub application during SOFIC.

The company, which developed Nerv Centr to support its own in-house wearable power and data tools, says the system is intuitive and easy to use, and can provide soldiers with up-to-date information about power consumption which will help them to plan missions more effectively. The device does not just display current power levels, but the application can assist in analysing power consumption across different users. Over time, data sets can be built up which will assist in predicting power-consumption requirements during missions, minimising burden on batteries and maximising the usable time soldiers can obtain from their powered systems.

Galvion is well-known for our intelligent power and power management hardware solutions and we see software as the next logical capability enhancement opportunity for operators,” said Kristen Lomastro, President of the company’s Active Systems division. “This application will offer real operational advantages to JTACs, communication specialists and tactical leaders, allowing lighter logistic loads and substantiated, accurate power planning for future missions.”
