REDCOM exhibits Sigma Core military-grade call control software on Klas Telecom Voyager 8 tactical communications systems
REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a leading supplier of tactical edge communications systems,is part of the Klas Telecom booth (#1318) at SOFIC 2018 in Tampa, FL, this week.
At the show, REDCOM is exhibiting the latest versions of its military-grade virtualised call control software, Sigma Core, running on the Klas Telecom Voyager 8 hardware platform. The award-winning Voyager 8 is a carbon fibre, airline carry-on-size transit case system that meets military standards for ruggedisation. It features a nested, uninterruptable power supply (UPS) built into the chassis that houses, powers, and charges the various route, switch, server, and other networking modules contained within. With REDCOM Sigma Core software integrated into the Voyager 8, REDCOM and Klas Telecom can deliver dramatically improved interoperable communications capabilities for tactical, expeditionary, and Special Operations Forces (SOF).

Sigma Core enables intuitive and flexible software-based call control with a rich set of UC functions, including VoIP, point-to-point video, XMPP with presence, unified messaging, and secure conferencing. Installed on the Voyager 8, REDCOM Sigma Core can function as an easily-deployable stand-alone Local Session Controller (LSC) or as an adjunct to an existing Enterprise Session Controller (ESC) to deliver advanced voice services such as transcoding and conferencing for red and black networks.
REDCOM is also showcasing Sigma Client, the company’s secure mobile app for Windows and Android. The app features full preemption controls and Push-to-Talk for instantaneous voice communication via IP.
