Grey Ghost Precision Redesigns Most Popular Rifle Models

Announces MKII Version of Precision Rifles

Grey Ghost Precision, a leading manufacturers of accurate, reliable and attainable weapon systems, announces the MKII versions of their most popular rifles, the GGP Heavy (.308 WIN), GGP Light (5.56 NATO) and the GRIM (6.5 Creedmoor) ahead of SOFIC 2018.

Grey Ghost spends no time, wasted on production – partnering with only the best in the industry, to ensure that every product that goes out the door is worthy of it’s name, the team at GGP worked tirelessly to revise the previous models, guaranteeing the perfection that we know and expect,” the company says.

The GGP Heavy (.308 WIN) is an extremely accurate semi-automatic rifle that fits the specific requests from sources operating in Afghanistan. The team at GGP coupled these demands with evaluations from Special Forces marksmanship instructors, competition shooters and avid hunters, and developed one of the most innovative and cutting-edge rifles in the in the DMR space.

Built with the GGP MKII 7075-T651 billet upper receiver and GGP MKII 7075-T651 billet ambi lower, the Heavy measures an overall length (with the extended GGP MKII Extended length (15in) M-LOK hand guard) of 38in, and a mere 35in when collapsed; and weighs in at 8.3lbs. It carries a 16in .308WIN match grade BBL. 1×10 twist, 5/8-24 threaded muzzle with a GGP muzzle brake and Black Nitride coating in and out.

The GGP Light (5.56 NATO) is a real-world application rifle, which is as effective in home defense as it is on the battlefield. Designed to achieve a durable, reliable, affordable, accurate and attainable 5.56 rifle—all without compromising quality, the light is intended for hard use and everything that goes with it.

Built with a GGP MKII 7075-T651 billet upper with M4 feed ramps, and a GGP MKII 7075-T651 billet ambi lower, the GGP Light measures an overall length of 37” (stock extended), and 34” (collapsed); with an overall weight of 6.6lbs. Donned with a 16in 5.56 BBL. 1×8 twist, 1/2-28 threaded muzzle with a GGP muzzle brake, and Black Nitride coating in and out.

The GGP MKII Grim (6.5 Creedmoor) came to light, after shooters began experiencing the accuracy potential of the Grey Ghost Precision catalog of rifles in other calibers. Several competitive shooters in the precision rifle circuit desired a gas gun that gave their beloved 6.5 Creedmoor round a platform, that maintained all the advantages of a modern semi-automatic sporting rifle – without compromising accuracy, consistency and performance. GGP worked to produce the GRIM, an exceedingly accurate 6.5 Creedmoor rifle that fit the specific requests of experienced snipers and PRS shooters looking for the ultimate tack driving instrument that would not only compete with other 6.5 Creedmoor rifles, but win.

We decided that it was time to step away from the proprietary platform of the original GGP rifles, and remove all compromises; making the MKII versions much more user friendly and simplified,” stated Grey Ghost Precision, Vice President of Firearms, Jason Curns. “With the focus being that of a more simplistic, yet versatile design, the MKII versions are now lighter (almost a full pound less on each platform) and maintain tighter tolerances across the board.
