Singapore Airshow: Orbital ATK Features Advanced Products & Capabilities

Ground, Air, Sea and Space Solutions Exhibited

Orbital ATK, a global leader in aerospace and defence technologies, exhibits a wide range of the company’s products and advanced capabilities in the US Pavilion, stand #Q81. Participation in the Singapore Airshow 2018 provides Orbital ATK the chance to interact with customers within this important market segment and promote products and services encompassing ground, air, sea and space solutions.

Solutions include Orbital ATK’s ELIMINATOR, the latest version of the highly-successful AC-208B Armed CARAVAN aircraft. The ELIMINATOR is able to find, fix, identify, track, target and engage emerging and time-sensitive targets with two HELLFIRE missiles per wing or 2.75in guided rockets, based on mission requirements. The strike capabilities are complemented with a robust suite of sensors and communications equipment for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

Additional products featured include the Palletized Weapon System (PaWS), combining Orbital ATK’s combat proven GAU-23 30mm cannon and mission system operators console. The system can be rapidly uploaded and/or downloaded using standard forklift equipment and is designed for easy configuration change and provides the customer with flexible, multiple mission capabilities. In addition, its fielded AC-235 Light Gunship provides customers with sustained and precise firepower in a variety of scenarios.

Orbital ATK displays its full capabilities to provide counter UAS protection with electronic attack systems that are field deployable or part of a fixed site defence package as well as an integrated kinetic attack when paired with its BUSHMASTER Chain Guns and air bursting ammunition from a STRYKER combat vehicle.

The technology on display also features the company’s space-based capabilities that include its product line of satellite platforms. Specific products include Orbital ATK’s GEOStar communications satellite platforms, the company’s medium-, small- and microsatellite-class systems primarily used in low-Earth orbit, and other specialized space system architectures such as the ESPAStar spacecraft. These satellite platforms support a wide variety of customer missions in the defence and intelligence, scientific, remote sensing, hosted payloads and commercial communications markets.

The exhibit also highlights Orbital ATK’s Mission Extension Vehicle, which provides in-orbit satellite life extension service to virtually all geostationary satellites. Other key products showcase the company’s expertise in providing lightweight, high-strength composite materials for commercial and military aircraft structures that reduce weight, improve performance and lower lifecycle costs.

Northrop Grumman said late January it will create a new sector known as Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems once it closes the acquisition of Orbital ATK.
