Singapore Airshow 2020: Hensoldt Focused on Integrated Airborne Solutions

New Integrated SIGINT system – KALAETRON – to be Revealed

In Singapore next week, Hensoldt will focus on its broad range of sensor technologies in the airborne solutions domain. These sensor solutions are deployed on various platforms, including helicopters, aircraft and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Among the company’s main areas of aerospace activity are air defence, mission management, aircraft self-defence, signals intelligence (SIGINT) and data link as well as identification-friend-or-foe (IFF) solutions and avionics computers. Products on show in Singapore will include the SferiRec LCR 100 flight data recorder, the Lygarion data Link and the MILDS missile warning sensor.

Hensoldt will introduce KALAETRON for the first time in Singapore, a fully integrated SIGINT system that is part of the newly released Kalaetron product line. The system provides warnings against radar threats but can also be used for strategic SIGINT in an enhanced configuration. Due to its fully digital design, the new radar warner detects and identifies threats with remarkable speed and a very low false alarm rate, over an extremely wide frequency range.

The company will also show its ARGOS-II HD A1 multi-sensor system for airborne ISR missions, which can be fitted with HD infrared and daylight cameras as well as laser rangefinders and laser illuminators.

Rapidly changing and evolving geo-political landscapes in Asia-Pacific continue to shape modernisation of air capabilities,” explains Nathan Manzi, head of Asia-Pacific at Hensoldt. “As a specialist in defence electronics, we are a world leader in missile and laser warning systems with more than 8,000 sensors sold globally.” In fact, Hensoldt builds on a legacy of more than 40 years in Singapore, with the foundation having been laid by its subsidiary Kelvin Hughes.
