Air Traffic Management and Air Defence Training With Two Years’ Support
Adacel announced on 17 July that it has won a contract valued at over $3.25 million to provide training and simulation systems and services to an unnamed Central American military customer.
Under the contract, Adacel will provide and install a 360° Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower Simulation System (TSS), ATC Radar and Air Defence Training simulators, as well as Adacel’s ICE communication and phraseology training systems. The company will also provide support and onsite training for personnel involved in systems operation, maintenance and scenario preparation for an initial period of two years. Systems installation is anticipated to commence in September 2017 and will be largely complete by year end.
The 360° Adacel MAXSIM TSS will enhance training realism through an enclosed tower cab layout with an impressive out-the-window visual system employing twelve 84in HD displays. The simulator includes Adacel’s state-of-the-art LEXIX speech recognition system and INSIGHT visuals, including its new ‘true horizon’ technology. The systems will accommodate both individual and team training in the control tower and radar disciplines.
