Fresh Challenges and Lessons Learned to be Considered
Recent terrorist attacks have adopted new forms and have brought about important changes in response protocols aimed at prevention and intervention. Security and emergency services representatives from London and Barcelona will highlight some of these changes in the round table “New challenges when faced with terrorist attacks: lessons learned,” introduced and moderated by Madrid’s firefighting service during the SICUR FORUM programme at SICUR 2018 in Madrid on 21 February.
The implications of terrorism for industry will also be the subject of a conference organized by EFITEC FORUM, entitled “Companies and jihadist terrorism: threats and security measures,” on the same day. The event will consist of three presentations: “The current situation of jihadist terrorism in Europe,” presented by Superintendent of the National Police Service, José María Moreno; “The technological risks of jihadist terrorism,” presented by Chief Inspector Alfonso Estévez Ochoa, also from the National Police Service; and “Security measures in companies when faced with terrorist risk,” which will feature several speakers including contributions from Colonel of the Civil Guards (SEPROSE), Andrés Sanz, and the security director of a private entity.
SICUR, the International Security, safety and Fire Exhibition organised by IFEMA, is taking place 20-23 February at the Feria de Madrid and features an important display of equipment and solutions specially focused on reinforcing security measures for emergencies and terrorist risks.
