SHOT Show: RAPTAR Rapid Targeting and Ranging Module in Detail

Designed to be mounted to a wide variety of weapon platforms

The PRG Defense/Wilcox Industries Rapid Targeting and Ranging Module (RAPTAR) is designed to be mounted to a wide variety of weapon platforms designed with MIL-STD-1913 RIS/RAS and STANAG-4694 rails. The eye safe version (G03) uses a low power Class 1 IR laser that features a <0.7mw rating which is eye safe and not restricted for use by the FDA. It os available in two modules: RAPTAR, Rapid Targeting and Ranging Module (Military Power Laser) and RAPTAR ES, Eye Safe only Rapid Targeting and Ranging Module

RAPTAR harnesses and fuses an Infra-Red (IR) Laser, a Visible Laser, IR Flood, and a Laser Range Finder (LFR). It is expandable with emerging technology, producing an overall cost savings throughout the lifecycle. The Remote Control Pad allows the operator to activate selected laser and to range and engage targets. A Laser/Input Button allows the operator to lase the target min IR or VIS mode, or to input menu options in any menu selection-mode, while a mode selection knob allows the user to select from eight mpossible modes of operation: Off, IR Laser, IR Flood, IR Dual, Function, VIS Laser, VIS Flash, and VIS Dual.

Iy furthermore features User “On The Fly” Laser, IR Illuminator, Red/IR Pointer Intensity Control; ergonomically positioned LED panel displays range to target min 1m increments; Focus Wheel allows the operator to change the IR illuminator mfrom flood to spot.

RAPTAR is comparable in size to the ATPIAL with only a slight increase in weight, but with the additional feature of a Laser Range Finder.

The total operating weighy including battery and remote is less than 308g (10.8oz) at 4.25×3.19×1.75in, while Sight Plane Above the Railis 0.930 inches. Further dimensions are: Visible Aiming LaserRed (635) <.7mW up to <5mW Low, 25mW Max High; IR Aiming Laser<.7 mW Low, 50 mW Max High; and IR Illuminator<.7 mW Low, 50 mW Max High.
