On 3 September, Vienna-based Schiebel announced the creation of Schiebel Pacific Pty Ltd in Shoalhaven, Australia (between Sydney and Canberra) to the Pacific region with a permanent and comprehensive programme, logistics and sales hub.

The company already has established defence contracts in the region and sees considerable further potential in Australia and the Pacific region at large. Schiebel also sees the new company as an essential step to supporting and contributing to local industry, in both civil and defence sectors, thereby bringing jobs and revenue to the region in the fast-growing robotics market.
