Reduced SWaP Features Instrumental in Selection
Northrop Grumman has selected SCD USA to provide the IR solution for the Next Generation Handheld Targeting System for the US Marine Corps, the company announced on 9 May.
The solution, which forms part of SCD USA’s Sparrow product family and features both high performance and reduced size, weight and power consumption (SWaP) metrics, possesses compelling features that facilitated the NGHTS being able to meet the USMC’s exacting imaging and SWaP requirements, the company stated. “Our engineering and production teams ensured the rapid and seamless integration of our SWaP cooled IR solution into the Northrop Grumman solution,” commented CEO, Mark Fydenkevez.
