Sophisticated IR Video Engine Sensor for Remote Monitoring Solution
Semi Conductor Devices (SCD) is to provide one of the principal sensors for an Israeli system to remotely monitor the physiological parameters of patients in an emergency-mode effort to fight the COVID-19 virus, the company announced on 13 April.
Led by the Israeli MoD’s Directorate of Defence Research & Development (DDR&D) and the Israeli Defence Force’s Technology Unit with the participation of several Israeli companies, the combined effort is working towards a system that may have future utility in dense, crowded venues such as transport hubs, shopping centres, sporting venues or large office complexes.
SCD will provide its VOXI IR video engine sensor to the programme and will also develop specific adaptations for the system’s unique requirements, thereby ensuring seamless system integration and operation. VOXI’s advanced processing functions enable remote, automatic temperature monitoring in a wide range of environments.
“Fighting the coronavirus in any possible way is crucial, and the new system developed will improve the efficiency and safety of the diagnostic process in hospitals and public facilities,” commented SCD CEO, Dan Slasky.
