Saab Pitches Full Fledged Command & Control Platform For Mission-Critical Operations at Airports
Saab returned to PMRExpo with its SAFE security and safety management platform that replaces legacy systems at airports and other critical locations such as harbours and prisons. Addressing a steadily increasing demand at airports, SAFE offers an “all-in-one” solution for the plethora of safety and security tasks.
Consisting of base features and operational features, SAFE recently found its deployment at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona, USA. Martin Olsson, Head of Airport Solutions, Department of Network & Public Safety, informed Mönch that the platform delivered to this new client is modular and scalable in nature, offering operators an open architecture platform for comprehensive situational awareness. SAFE can do more, S&SI learned during a presentation of the platform.
It offers new and enhanced functionalities such as automatic record capturing for the rapid creation of a shared, common operational picture in real time. Olsson noted that the SAFE platform, thanks to its modularity and scaleability provides for more efficient processes, which in the past required different systems, often functioning as “island” solutions. This new capability will help create response plans more efficiently and coordinate emergency situations in a timely manner. Olsson confirmed that other functionalities can be attached to SAFE, including a counter-drone capability.
Saab is currently in talks with partners in Germany for implementing this functionality.
