Five-Year Framework Contract with Deliveries from 2020
On 12 September Saab announced that it has won a competition for a five-year framework contract for 81mm mortar ammunition from an undisclosed customer. To include live and training rounds, the first call-offs against the order are currently anticipated for 2019, with deliveries to commence the following year.
Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland Ltd. (SBDS), a subsidiary of Saab based in Thun and operating as part of the Dynamics business area, will manufacture and deliver the mortar rounds. The order includes the high explosive WG round as well as the EUG explosive grenade and, potentially, the newest product from SBDS – the THOR – the latest in pre-fragmented mortar grenades.
