The order also includes upgrade of existing systems on the VISBY-class corvettes and GOTLAND-class submarines. Deliveries will take place during the period 2017-2020. The contract also includes options for future upgrade orders.
“With this contract, the Swedish Navy will have modern TIS on their submarines and corvettes to ensure a continued and modern operation of the existing torpedo systems,” Anne-Marie Vösu, head of business unit Underwater Systems within Saab business area Dynamics, explained. “With the new systems, the corvettes and submarines will also be prepared for the Swedish Navy´s New Lightweight Torpedo, ordered in 2016 and now under development by Saab.
