Saab has received an order from Fr Lürssen Werft – prime contractor for the Bulgarian Navy’s Multipurpose Modular Patrol Vessel (MMPV) programme – for delivery and installation of the company’s combat system, Saab announced on 8 December.
Lürssen will build the two new patrol vessels at the MTG Dolphin JSC shipyard in Varna, Bulgaria, with delivery currently scheduled for 2025-2026. Saab will conduct its work on the contract at its facilities in Sweden, Denmark, Australia and South Africa.
“We look forward to contributing to strengthen Bulgaria’s defence and national security for years to come with our proven technology and solid naval combat system expertise,” commented Anders Carp, Saab’s Deputy CEO.
