Saab Will Deliver Latest Confined Space Reduced Sensitivity Variant
The US Army has placed an order with Saab for additional quantities of the shoulder-launched AT4 anti-armour system. The approximate order value is $50 million (€43 million) and is in addition to a $13.4 million delivery order received in 2017.
The variant to be delivered is the AT4CS RS (Confined Space Reduced Sensitivity). Weighing less than 8kg and with an effective range of 20-300m, the disposable, preloaded weapon system delivers excellent behind-armour effect. Since 1987, Saab has delivered more than 600,000 AT4s, both directly and under license, to US forces. The weapon has been continuously upgraded since that time to provide even greater capability and effect to the user. Newer versions currently under development will offer even greater ranges and additional flexibility.
“This order demonstrates the continuing strong belief by the customer in the AT4 system,” commented Senior Vice President and head of Saab’s business area Dynamics, Görgen Johansson.
