Ryan Aerospace/Precision Flight Controls Bell 206 Simulator

Dual Control Device for Basic Training and Beyond

Australian simulator specialist Ryan Aerospace and Precision Flight Controls have been developing a new helicopter simulator platform based on the ubiquitous Bell 206, which will be on display at Heli-Expo in Dallas, TX/USA, 7-9 March.

Motion legs from D-Box provide realistic motion cues such as vibration when entering translational lift or exceeding limits. The visual system consists of five 75in monitors providing a horizontal field of view around 160° – optional additional monitors can provide chin window views as well. The avionics suite comprises a Garmin 530 GPS using original software with a backup NAV/COM radio, ADF and transponder as standard. The device is dual control with all controls mechanically linked.

Like previous Ryan Aerospace simulators, the end result for each customer is fully flexible and the company can provide increasingly sophisticated solutions such as fully immersive multi-projector dome systems with image blending and warping software on demand.
Applications for the new cost-effective simulator range from mission rehearsal and combined arms training through ab initio training, human factors analysis and laboratory testing.
