Selected Industrial Views with Amy Coyne, Vice President of the Operational Clothing and Individual Equipment, ADS, Inc.
On the occasion of SHOT Show 2017, MILITARY TECHNOLOGY publishes the Second Annual Rugged Tactical Tools for Extreme Conditions (RTTEC) Series that conveys the thoughts and messages of the world’s tactical equipment leaders, according to the question: “As soldiers and Special Forces operators expect their gear to be 100% reliable, how do you step up to offer extremely durable, rugged gear to keep operations running?”
ADS is known for collaborating with defence industry suppliers to design custom solutions—regardless of requirement. We work with more than 3,000 partner suppliers who offer 50,000+ products. When a customer comes to us with a need, we present them with several solutions so they can make an informed decision. If one doesn’t exist, we track it down or develop a solution.
In fact, ADS recently dedicated a department to developing solutions for customer pain points based on end user feedback.
- Creating a completely waterproof assault pack was no small task, but Matbock and Mystery Ranch developed a custom solution that transports any three or five-day assault pack. The Matbock Mystery Ranch (MR) Dry Bag’s durable exterior, waterproof clamshell, and floatation capabilities make it optimal for any water environment.
- In support of the government mandated Stop the Bleed campaign, ADS addressed the need for an Active Shooter Incident Response Kit that allows bystanders and civilians without prior medical training to save the life of a victim at a moment’s notice. Through a joint partnership, ADS integrated Phokus Research Group’s trauma kit and Cardiac Science’s Powerheart G5’s RescueCoach AED into a user-friendly first responder kit that provided the same quality of care as an EMT or a Paramedic.
- If a mission requires several products, we specialise in solutions-driven kitting, which ensures equipment is organised and protected in an easy-to-handle package. There’s no guess work or hunting down several products that may or may not work seamlessly together.
More than 1/3 of our team is former military, so when we’re discussing equipment for a specific mission, we get it. The ADS team is comprised of former supply officers and subject matter experts from all branches and specialties.
From apparel to energy solutions and robotics to shelters, ADS has the experience and supplier relationships across all categories to develop the best products.
