Objective to Become Largest European Provider of Network and Cybersecurity Solutions
Rohde & Schwarz has increased its shareholding in network infrastructure manufacturer LANCOM Systems to 100%, laying the foundation for continued, sustainable and above average growth and with the objective of becoming Europe’s largest provider of network and cybersecurity solutions, the company announced on 30 July.
Rohde & Schwarz has held a majority interest in LANCOM, which will now operate as an independent subsidiary within the group, since October 2016. LANCOM founder Ralf Koenzen and Co-Managing Director Stefan Herrlich will continue to run the business and assume additional responsibilities within the group, heading the newly-formed Networks & Cybersecurity Division at Rohde & Schwarz, which will also incorporate Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity.
“The increased commitment of Rohde & Schwarz opens up further outstanding growth opportunities for LANCOM. We will use joint innovations to open up new markets and press ahead with the internationalization of our business,” explained Mr Koenzen. “We are pleased to enter this long-term commitment with LANCOM with its great track record of success,” added Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity supervisory board member Bosco Novak. “In just a very short time, the partnership has resulted in highly exciting developments that we will benefit from even more in the future. In the age of Industry 4.0, we are also leading the way in securing networked infrastructures.”
