Fully Interoperable With Existing TacComms Systems
Rohde & Schwarz has been awarded a contract to supply a significant number of tactical vehicular communications systems to an Asian army, the company announced at Eurosatory 2022 on 14 June.
Under this extension contract, the company will deliver SOVERON VR, optimised for use in vehicular applications and meeting stringent vibration and SWaP requirements. The vehicular software-defined radios are fully interoperable with existing tactical communications systems and will enter service after being installed by local industrial concerns.

SOVERON VR is an operationally-proven multiband communications solution, operating in the 30-512MHz VHF/UHF frequency range. Ruggedised hardware allows for use in extreme conditions, such as those found in armoured vehicle operations. The SOVERON WAVE embedded waveform suite provides increased situational awareness, through adaptive high-bandwidth IP networking. Mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) enables continuously stable communications within agile networks.
